DESIGNER

Carla Grande's expertise runs the gamut; fashion executive, artist agent, producer, graphic designer, and writer. She began her career at Henri Bendel, head of the US retail stores expansion. After a successful several years in fashion, it was time for something new. Leaving the corporate world behind, she began collaborating with some of New York's emerging artists in the fields of photography, illustration, design and fine art. She represented world renowned photographer John Dugdale for several years in commercial advertising and collaborated with him on various studio projects.

With a desire for flexing her own creativity, she began designing websites - in pursuit of graphic and uncluttered layouts. Clients include filmmakers, musicians, artists in various fields, fashion and interior designers, environmental and educational organizations, and one of New York City's premiere real estate companies. She designed websites for legendary guitarist Carlos Alomar, winner of 32 gold and platinum records, fine artists such as Hunt Slonem, Arne Svenson, and MacArthur Fellows Genius recipient, puppeteer Basil Twist.

Carla teamed up with painter Hunt Slonem to design French earthenware for Tiffany & Co. and continues to represent artists, David Pfendler, Rory Gevis and Jill Peters. It was an honor for Carla to have designed the website of civil rights activist Edie Windsor, who struck down DOMA, (Defense of Marriage Act), and named TIME Magazine's #3 Person of the year. Soon after she began working with attorney Robbie Kaplan, who argued the Supreme Court case, on various graphic and web design projects. Services include website design, graphc design, and consulting.
